Lenovo K6 Power with 5-inch Full HD Display and 4,000mAh Battery

Lenovo launched its new smartphone as Lenovo K6 Power. The smartphone is powerd with its large 4,000 mAh battery. Lenovo first announced its Vibe K6 series at IFA 2016 in Berlin. The Lenovo K6 Power was launched together with Lenovo K6 and K6 Note. You can say that Lenovo K6 Power is a budget device that fits right in between K6 and K6 Note. There is a huge problem when we talk about battery in smartphones. We know that smartphones consume lots of power due to its large display and graphics. The K6 Power is aimed at users who rely on big battery packed in a small phone to get through the day. Lenovo K6 Power gets a 5-inch full HD display and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. When we talk about the features of K6 Power then really it is a nice phone. Lets talk about the key specification and see what’s new the phone carried out. The K6 Power is predecessor of Lenovo Vibe K5 series and it is very much similar in design.

It carried out a 5-inch Full HD IPS display (1920 x 1080 pixels resolution) and is powered by 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 chipset clocked at 1.4Ghz with an Adreno 505 GPU. It comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The memory is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card. The phone has a powerful battery of 4000mAh that makes it more powerful.

The rear camera on the K6 Power is 13MP with LED flash, PDAF, Manual Pro Mode, Time lapse and Slow Motion. It features an 8MP front camera with auto Beautification mode. The Dual-SIM smartphone offers fingerprint sensor and Dolby Audio support.

Lenovo K6 Power runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with company’s Pure UI that brings support for dual apps and long screenshots. Again this is similar to the MIUI 8 offers on Xiaomi phones. The phone supports the company’s Theatre Max technology to allow for a 360 video, gaming experience for those who have the required VR ANT headset.

Chipset, RAM and Storage

The hardware powering the smartphone includes a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 octa-core chipset clocked at 1.4GHz along with an Adreno 505 GPU. While the smartphone was announced globally in two variants, India gets the 3GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage version. It also comes with a memory card expansion slot (hybrid SIM slot) to further expand the storage. As for the 2GB/16 GB variant, Lenovo said that it wont be bringing that in anytime in the future.

The company has added some useful features like the ability to lock apps with your fingerprint or a password and run two versions of the same app with separate accounts, say Whatsapp or Facebook.


The primary camera is a 13MP IMX258 Sony sensor along with phase detection auto-focus and an LED flash. On the front there is an 8MP camera to take your selfies. The rear camera offers features like a manual mode, HDR, Panorama, slow-mo mode, time lapse and so on. Pictures seemed to be pretty decent and the overall camera speed felt good for something under Rs 10,000. Of course, I need to thoroughly test it out to come to any results.

Battery and Connectivity

The connectivity options include 4G LTE (with VoLTE support), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2, FM Radio and a micro-USB port with OTG and reverse charge support. It comes with a hybrid SIM card slot (micro SIM + nano SIM). The smartphone carry 4,000mAh which is again very similar to the Redmi 3S Prime. According to the company, it offers a 27-day standby time.

Lenovo K6 Power Price and Availability

Lenovo has priced the smartphone at Rs 9,999. Given the pricing and specifications, the K6 Power will directly compete with Xiaomi’s Redmi 3S Prime in India which costs Rs 8,999.
